We respect your privacy. We do not run marketing campaigns, we do not sell your data, and we do not profile our visitors. The personal data we process is strictly what we need to reply to your enquiries, prepare quotations and manage our business relationship with you.

The data controller responsible for your personal data is:

2. What Personal Data We Collect

We only collect personal data that you voluntarily provide to us, or that is strictly necessary for the Website to function properly and securely.

2.1 Information you provide directly

  • Contact form: full name, email address, phone number and the content of the message you send us when you request information through our "Contact Us" form.
  • Quote requests (WooCommerce): our product pages allow you to request a quotation for selected items. This feature works as an extended contact form: we collect your name, email, phone number, the items you are interested in and any note or message you provide. No payments are processed on our Website and no payment data is collected.
  • Account registration (optional): if you create an account to save wishlists or quote lists, we collect your name, email address and a password (stored in encrypted form). Account creation is optional and not required to browse the Website.
  • Wishlists: if you use our wishlist feature, the products you save are associated with your account.
  • Other communications: if you contact us by email, phone or through third-party platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Instagram, Pinterest), we may retain the content of those communications.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Technical and log data: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, date and time of access. These are standard server logs used to keep the Website secure and operational.
  • Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 7 below.

We do not collect special categories of personal data (such as health, religion, political opinions or biometric data).

3. How We Use Your Personal Data

We use personal data only for the following purposes:

  • To respond to your enquiries and messages sent through our contact form.
  • To prepare and send you quotations for products and design services you have requested.
  • To manage your user account, wishlists and quote lists, where applicable.
  • To manage our business relationship with architects, designers, contractors and clients, including project coordination, sample shipments and follow-up.
  • To operate, secure and maintain the Website (including preventing abuse, fraud and technical attacks).
  • To comply with applicable laws, accounting obligations and lawful requests from public authorities.

What we do NOT do:

  • We do not send marketing newsletters or promotional emails.
  • We do not use advertising, retargeting or behavioural marketing tools.
  • We do not profile you or make automated decisions based on your data.
  • We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data with third parties.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies (for example, if you are located in the European Economic Area), we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): to reply to your quote requests and manage our commercial relationship with you.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): to respond to general enquiries, to secure the Website and to operate our business. These interests are balanced against your rights and freedoms.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR): to comply with tax, accounting and other legal requirements.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): where consent is specifically required (e.g. for non-essential cookies, where used).

5. Sharing of Personal Data

We do not sell your personal data. We only share it with the following categories of recipients, and only to the extent necessary:

  • Technical service providers: our hosting provider, email provider, CDN and security services (such as Cloudflare), and IT maintenance providers, who process data on our instructions and under appropriate confidentiality and data protection commitments.
  • Italian and international partner brands and manufacturers: when necessary to fulfil a specific request (for example, to check product availability, stock or factory-direct logistics), we may share your contact details and project information with the relevant manufacturer or supplier.
  • Logistics and shipping companies: when we send product samples or deliver purchased goods.
  • Professional advisors: accountants, auditors and legal advisors, where strictly necessary.
  • Public authorities: where required by law or to protect our legal rights.

6. International Data Transfers

TAF House Material is based in the United Arab Emirates. Some of our service providers and partner brands are located in Italy, the European Union and other countries. When personal data is transferred outside your country of residence, we take appropriate steps to ensure an adequate level of protection, including by relying on recognised legal mechanisms (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, where applicable) and on contractual commitments with our providers.

7. Cookies

Our Website uses only essential and functional cookies. We do not use advertising, analytics-profiling or tracking cookies.

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required for the Website to function (e.g. session cookies, login cookies, shopping-cart/quote-list cookies, wishlist cookies).
  • Security cookies: set by our security and CDN provider (Cloudflare) to protect the Website from fraud and abuse (e.g. __cf_bm, cf_clearance).
  • Functional cookies: used to remember your preferences (such as your language selection), where applicable.

You can disable cookies at any time through your browser settings. Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Website from working correctly.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, and in any event:

  • Contact form enquiries: up to 24 months from our last exchange, unless the enquiry leads to an active project or commercial relationship.
  • Quote requests: up to 24 months from the date of the quote, or longer if required for the execution or follow-up of the related project.
  • User accounts and wishlists: for as long as the account remains active. You may request deletion of your account at any time.
  • Accounting and tax records: for the period required by applicable UAE law (generally up to 5 years) or longer where other legal obligations apply.
  • Technical server logs: typically up to 12 months, for security and troubleshooting purposes.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your country of residence (in particular under the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection and under the EU GDPR), you may have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • The right to be informed about how we process your data.
  • The right to access your personal data and obtain a copy of it.
  • The right to rectify inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • The right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") where the legal conditions are met.
  • The right to restrict or object to certain processing activities.
  • The right to data portability, where applicable.
  • The right to withdraw your consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
  • The right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority (the UAE Data Office for UAE residents, or your local data protection authority in the EU/EEA).

To exercise your rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will respond to your request within the timeframes set by applicable law. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on your request.

10. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, alteration or disclosure. These measures include HTTPS encryption in transit, access controls, encrypted password storage, periodic software updates and a security/CDN layer provided by Cloudflare.

No transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we do our best to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or from our Website.

11. Children's Privacy

Our Website and services are addressed to professional clients (architects, designers, contractors, developers) and adult homeowners. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 18. If you believe that a minor has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Third-Party Links

Our Website may contain links to third-party websites (such as manufacturer brand pages, social media profiles or Google Maps). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites. We encourage you to read their privacy policies before providing them with personal data.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational or regulatory reasons. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the Policy was last revised. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
