New Design Trends in Ceramic Tiles 2023

Next year will see the return of naturalness: texture of wood, natural stone or marble, even concrete, in 2023 our love for ceramic tiles (realistically) imitating nature will have no equal. But it's not enough: colours will play a big role in 2023 trends and white is on top of the list.

While we love to keep you informed on what's hot in the tiles and wood world, a reflection is also needed. Coming back from CERSAIE2022, we could not help but notice that there has been somehow a slowdown in creativity: is this due to Covid? Is it because of the war? Certainly both agents play a big role in how we perceive life. But how have artists been affected by these troubled times? Fear and uncertainty seem to have taken over creativity.

Perhaps this observation is more of a point of discussion for us in the sector, and less for our customers who we always serve with great passion. But the question is legitimate because we know how great the creativity of Italian design is. And we cannot wait for it to be back, daring and majestic as usual.

NATURAL WOOD

It doesn't happen everyday that tiles imitating the texture of natural wood are so real to the extent that they can only be distinguished by touch. It's true and CANAL GRANDE by REFIN can prove it. Inspired by vintage motorboats and Venetian taxis, traditionally made of mahogany, these tiles have absorbed the main qualities of this wood, developing a directional and intense aesthetic to convey a sense of depth and three-dimensionality. With the desire to reproduce the play of light and shadow of the tables of luxury boats, the parallel and non-uniform lines that make up the design give the porcelain stoneware the same depth effect. Available in three colours Noce, Moro and Rubino, and 3 finishes, CANAL GRANDE is excellent for both floors and walls.

STONE-EFFECT CERAMIC TILES

“Naturalness” may also be found in natural stone effect. Stone-look tiles are a great choice for an interior and in the coming years, these styles are unlikely to lose their relevance. One of the most beneficial and pleasant properties of modern ceramics which imitates stone is the mix of its technical and aesthetic qualities. This is true especially for LEA CERAMICHE porcelain stoneware "ANTHOLOGY": a collection of porcelain stoneware floor and wall tiles ideal for applications in residential or commercial settings, indoors or out. It interprets traditional subjects, such as stone and marble, blended in original ways with intense tactile and visual realism. A marvellous stone that exudes luxury. Versatile and resistant, these ceramic surfaces are easy to sanitise thanks to the integrated Protect® antibacterial technology, which eliminates up to 99.9% of bacteria.

CONCRETE

Laying natural concrete is not only a difficult task, but also very dusty. Therefore, the use of ceramic tiles 2023, imitating real concrete, is an excellent option, an optimal and convenient way out. These tiles also provide reliability, ease of maintenance, and a modern look of the surface. It's the case of FEEL by REFIN CERAMICHE, an incredibly contemporary collection that offers an overall homogeneous appearance ideal for any space, both residential and hospitality. Different surfaces for different sensory experiences: FEEL Natural for environments with a coherent, organic appearance. Minimal, but with a deep soul - ready to rise to the surface. FEEL Strong is a slightly cloudy and delicate halo aesthetic, typical of the collection, and present in the most texturised finishing of the collection. And FEEL Shiny, where the application of the glossy effect to a product with an industrial taste is the intuition behind the most contemporary and daring proposal. A new interpretation of concrete with different shades from white to clay that looks like sage green. The finishes is what make this tile perfectly real.

WHITE

White is a colour that gives comfort, light, lightness and freedom. The magic of white shades creates the illusion of infinity and transparency of space in the interior. It's the case of SUPERCLASSICA SCW by 41zero42, a super white rectified porcelain wall tile, soft and versatile, available in eight different finishes and in seven sizes. Ready to be matched with colours, this tiles range is perfect for both residential and commercial, indoor and outdoor projects. Available in big format such as 60 x 120, and also in "chevron" style, to spice up your floors or walls, or in "waffle" ripples, for a dynamic wall, or "polished" if you want that luxurious look, suitable for both residential and commercial spaces. "Hammered" works well for outdoor flooring too.

3D TILES

Today, the most fashionable form of ceramic tiles is the 3D. The popularity of these tiles is definitely breaking all records in 2023. The shapes of such tiles and their sizes can expand their traditional range within a single collection. It is considered ultra-fashionable to use 3D porcelain tiles on the walls to give some movement to the ambient: a true decorative element for residential and commercial settings. TWINS by CERAMICA VOGUE is the new tile collection for indoor and outdoor coverings in frost-proof glazed stoneware in bas-relief structure. The surface of the brilliant inverted diamond structure is very sensitive to any light source, providing different reflections and shades with each change of light. The collection comes in six colours and in a 5x10 cm format in three patterns: orthogonal, offset and modern coffered.
